Minnesota Baby Shower!

**I highly recommend that before reading this post, you take a quick bathroom break, pour yourself a whiskey on the rocks and get ready for a loooong post about a baby shower where I use the words "cute" and "adorable" about 500 times. If you are a guy, you might want to make that whiskey a double!**

Aaron's parents, Bob and Karen, threw us a coed baby shower on Sunday at their house. It was so much fun! We played games, opened gifts, ate pizza and cake, and everyone just hung out and had a good time. The best part was how into it some of the guys got. My father-in-law Bob said that he never realized baby showers were so much fun. Although most of the men had a beer in their hands within the first 30 seconds of entering the shower, I think that for the most part they were pleasantly surprised that spending their Sunday afternoon at a baby shower wasn't as bad as they thought it might be! :)One of the games during the shower involved the men having to tie their shoes while "pregnant". They each had to blow up a pink balloon, position it as if they were pregnant, and bend over and tie their shoes. They couldn't pop the balloon and whoever managed to do it first won the game. It was hilarious!!! Of course some of the balloons started popping, some of the guys looked like they were giving birth to the balloon and I think there may have been one or two that couldn't even get their balloon blown up in the first place.

Here are a few pictures from the balloon game:

Bob showing off his bump.Aaron's sister, Liz, and her boyfriend, Corey came out for the weekend. Below is a picture of Corey auditioning to be the next "pregnant dude". I don't know about you, but I think he is pulling off the look pretty well!! The cakes...they say "congratulations" and "welcome baby":Here is a pic of us before we started to open up the gifts. Aaron's friend, Jacqua Brenner, is sitting to my right.

Here we are opening up gifts:
And just because everything was sooooo cute, I had to take pictures of all the gifts and post them!

From Aaron's parents, Bob and Karen (they pretty much bought out the selection at baby gap!):

From Dave and Jill Kalogerson (Dave is Aaron's friend from high school):From Ryan and Jenny MacSwain (Ryan is Aaron's cousin from his dad's side)..I took a close up of the pink shirt because the writing was so cute and funny! In case it's still hard to read it says "Save the drama for your mama!": From Chris and Jacqua Brenner (Chris and Jacqua are Aaron's friends from high school):From Kevin Rogers (Aaron's friend from high school). Kevin gave the green book to me, which is a baby journal (it's soo cute!) and the book below is for Aaron. The title of the book is "She's having a baby and I'm having a breakdown...what every man needs to know-and do-when the woman he loves is pregnant" It's really funny and cute...even gives tips for situations like what to do if you want to try the breastmilk...awkward!!!!!From Terry, Doug and Sara Robertson (family friends of the Vanney's). The book on the bottom is titled "On the Day You were Born" and the book on top is photo journal that corresponds with the book. They are so cute and I got really teary eyed reading them! From Amber and Shawn Fletcher (Aaron's cousins from his mom's side...they both currently go to college in the twin cities):From Jean, Jim and Christina Horn (the Horns are very good family friends of the Vanney's. They used to live next door to each other until the Vanney's moved down the street. )Here is a picture of Aaron's sister, Liz and her boyfriend, Corey. Liz and Corey flew in from CA (where they live) for the weekend. Liz made this "star blanket" for her little niece! It's so soft and adorable. I'm pretty sure that Corey picked out the color motif for the blanket...pink, sparkly silver and cream! ;)From Lennon...Baby V's first bathing suit!:From Judy Keppers (Karen's friend)...the feet on the onesie to the left have little "pink shoes" and the feet on the onesie to the right are "little duckies". How cute is that? From Teresa, Guy, Lindsey, Michelle, Hallie and Kaila (Guy and Teresa are Aaron's uncle and aunt and the girls are Aaron's cousins)From Gim and Kathy Middleton (family friends of the Vanney's):

And the Middleton's were kind enough to give Aaron his favorite dinner! If you don't understand, then check a few posts back :)

From Kathy and Tim Nelson (family friends of the Vanney's). The little rosebuds on the onesies are adorable!:From Al and Sandy Fletcher (Aaron's uncle and aunt...Sandy is Karen's sister):

What a party!! We had a blast and it was great to see everyone!! Hopefully we will see you all around Christmastime if we can figure out how to fly 27 hours from door to door with a 3 month old ;)
