The complex we are moving to is called Southridge and it's about a 2 minute drive from the Residences, where we currently live. I am so freakin excited! When we originally took our apartment in the Residences, I was newly pregnant, sick as hell, and soooo tired from the time change. I literally said "we'll take it" to the apartment lady before I even knew if there was a gym in the complex or what! I just wasn't thinking straight.
Well, we never really "gelled" with the apartment. The layout of it was kinda strange, the washer/dryer never really worked, things were breaking all the time. It just didn't feel like home! It probably didn't help that I never really decorated it. The pregnancy just sucked the life out of me and I had no motivation for anything! The apartment was also pretty tiny. So, now that it was time to renew our lease, we decided to look elsewhere.
Since I'm still in CT, Aaron had the job of apartment hunting and he looked at a ton of units. He really wanted to stay within the Residences so he looked at a few units there first but found nothing he liked. Then he went to Old Town and looked at some apartments (or flats as they call them here) and still didn't see anything! Finally, he went to Southridge and low and behold, he found SPACIOUS 2 units that he really liked. They are both in the same tower and one was on the 9th floor and the other on the 26th. Well, guess what he picked...the 26th! Mr. "I gotta have my view" wanted to live on the 26th floor. Well, I think he may have been a little spoiled from Chicago, when we lived on the 40th and the 32nd floor of a building, both with views of Millenium Park! So, we are now going to be residents in Southridge, which also happens to be where my friends Kelly- Anne and Suzanne live!
Oh, and I have been stocking up on decorations to bring back to Dubai. My apartments in Chicago were so freakin cute and our new one in Dubai will be as well! And, just in case you were wondering, Aaron will be moving us to our new apartment alone, since our lease is up Jan. 21st! Glad I got outta that one! ;)
