Aaron played in a softball tournament last week and Veronica and I, along with Suzanne and Fayth (Jon plays for the team as well) went to see the boys play! It was very warm outside...104 F! The guys really appreciated having us at the game and they kept coming over to say hi. Veronica wore one of my favorite dresses on her...she looked like a little flower! Fayth was a little helper and kept picking up the toys that V was tossing everywhere, except she was afraid that there was a skunk underneath the bleachers which was funny (there was no skunk)!
Aaron plays for a league called Duplays. I believe it was started up by a few 20-something engineers who came out to Dubai, but ended up starting up a huge business of sports leagues (softball, flag football, etc). They are now riding the money train because so many 20 & 30 something year old men who live out here, end up joining one of the sports and paying some serious dirhams (the tournament that Aaron was in cost 450 AED = $123.00). Aaron really enjoys it, and I do give him a lot of crap about it because it's on a Thursday night (equivalent to your Friday night since our weekends are Friday & Saturday), and I want to spend some QT with him! Oh well!! :P
They ended up winning the game, which meant that they had to go back that night at 5pm to play another game. Keep in mind that they had played at 12:45am the night (well, morning actually) before! I think this was the most physical activity Aaron had since lifting cases of beer at fraternity parties. ;)
