Ibn Battuta Mall

We also went to Ibn Battuta Mall in search of a rocking chair, ottoman and a whole lot of other baby items that we need. Ibn Battuta Mall is a weird mall. According to their website it's the "world's largest themed mall" and designed to celebrate the travels of the Arabic explorer Ibn Battuta. That's fine and all but I never would have "gotten it" unless I had looked at their website. Basically the mall is one floor, really spread out and has a somewhat creepy statue in every new section. It's not terrible, but definitely not my favorite.

Just in case you are dying to know, the themed areas are Andalusia (what is that?!), Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China.

Here are some pics I snapped of the mall:

Really pretty ceiling:

Aaron checking out the mall directory...we still got lost...until we found out that the directory incorrectly named the store we were looking for and that actual store was about 10 miles away...gotta love Dubai!!!

I think this was in India...I tried to get Aaron to pose with the elephant and he said "yeah right" and kept walking:

China:

This is a huge boat sculpture that you can go in (I think). This was on the total opposite side of the mall from where we were from. They have a free shuttle service here that takes you to the other side. Aaron wanted to use it. I said to him- Dude, I'm the pregnant one, if I can walk it than you can walk it. He claimed his legs hurt. Cry me a river dude!!!

Egypt ( I think):
