Last week, I was very tired and did not feel like making dinner. Normally, I'll cook dinner anywhere from 5-6 nights per week. (Prior to coming to Dubai, I did not cook that much at all. I was too busy with nursing school to worry about dinner so Aaron and I usually just ate sandwiches, take out and occasionally cereal.) Well, I told Aaron that I was too tired and we were just going to eat cereal for dinner. His face dropped, shoulders were sagged and he was dragging his feet across the kitchen floor. He ended up eating two bowls of Frosted Flakes (which he bought for himself not too long ago) and he also had some carrot sticks and a sliced apple.
The next day he told me that his stomach hurt him all day because he had to eat cereal the night before. While at work, he called me two times to tell me how terrible it was that he ate cereal for dinner and how much he looks forward to having a home cooked meal. It basically ruined his month!!! Then over the next two days he sat me down two times to reiterate to me how horrible it was that he had eaten cereal and he wishes it had never happened. He was dead serious! He even told his boss about it who showed him no sympathy because when she was pregnant her husband ate hot dogs for 3 months straight since she was on bed rest. Haha!
So basically, we now refer to this as the "cereal incident" and I now know that I can threaten him with "cereal for dinner" if he doesn't want to do something that I asked him to do (like unload the dishwasher or give me a footrub!).
Thought you might find that funny! :)

For the record, I tried to get Aaron to pose with the box of the Frosted Flakes so I could put a picture on the blog but he refused. So, I just took a picture of the "worst dinner ever" instead.

I'm still laughing...
ReplyDeleteGuess Jon asked him to go "out for cereal" today for lunch!!! he he he
Have a safe, fun, and belly "showing-off" trip home!! Can't wait to see how you've grown when you return. At least you have an excuse to gain weight after a trip home to the states to visit. I just ATE for no good reason. Well, maybe because Velvetta mac-n-cheese never tasted so good!! Hugs, Suzanne
